Just hours before I was to leave Argentina, Annie’s husband Bill returned from Mexico. I think the last time I saw him was in the mid-90s in Minnesota. We picked him up from the airport and were on our way to a restaurant. One of his first questions to Annie was, “Did you bring the mate?”

On our way back to the airport, we saw the famous Ezeiza woods with their new spring leaves:

The next day, on my way from Phoenix to San Diego, I saw leaves changing to their fall colors:
